Right this minute, I shouldn't be melancholy and begin to adore these images when I know better. I have a couple of lesson plans to make but I was stuck, so I would rather let these photos take me back to last year's Valentine's Day.
My Michael was worried that the irises were purple. If you have an open mind and a little imagination, you could say these were blue. Blue or purple didn't matter. He worked hard as an online English teacher before the crack of dawn before heading to work for another 8 hours. He was always exhausted at the end of the day. I am ashamed to admit it, I thought I was going to get one of those bouquets from the grocery store, which I wouldn't have minded.
I noticed that he was a little bit antsy the day before "that" Valentines Day, albeit we don't celebrate V-day on V-day since it's overrated (so we do our thing). That year, however, he ordered this bouquet of tulips that arrived in a beautiful box along with an array of chocolate covered strawberries. It greatly upset him that it didn't arrive on V-day as guaranteed. It was a day late and he wrote the company a terrible review.
It didn't matter because, even after a year, here I am still looking at these tulips, reminiscing about that night together when we finally ate the strawberries between kisses, hugs and more plans for Japan.
I like roses, but Tulips are the flowers he always get for me on those special occasions which makes them even more special. One day, I will get one of these images printed. Just one. A big one!
